DAN ADAMS, Lead Pastor

Dan is the founding and Lead Pastor of RiverTown Church. Born and raised in Jacksonville, he attended college at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. He married his college sweetheart Amber in 1995. Dan and Amber have two sons and live in Jacksonville’s Southside.

The teaching style at RiverTown reflects Dan’s commitment to communicating God’s word expositionally with a gospel-driven and relevant focus. Believing that worship should be refreshing and relevant, his teaching strives to overcome the failure and boredom of empty religion by leading people to experience a relationship with Jesus. A relationship with Jesus is all about grace, and grace is what permeates the teaching, worship and culture at RiverTown. The stories of God’s grace in the lives of the people at RiverTown are simply beautiful.

Dan is an alum of Samford University (B.S. in History, 1995), Beeson Divinity School (Master of Divinity, 1998), and Liberty University (M.B.A., 2009). He is continuing his studies as a Doctor of Ministry student at Reformed Theological Seminary and a ThM student at Southern Seminary. Dan is also a Sigma Chi, joining this fraternity in his college days at Samford. He was highly influenced and gained a vision for making disciples and for God's work in the world through his involvement with Campus Outreach at Samford. Through this ministry, he came to commit and purpose his life to build Jesus-focused laborers and leaders ... for the glory of God and the good of the world. Prior to founding RiverTown, Dan served on the staff of churches in Birmingham, Orlando and Jacksonville.

Dan loves hanging with his wife and boys. He enjoys golf, tennis, softball, basketball, and working out in his free time. Dan loves to eat seafood, sushi, wings, oreos, and of course barbecue (like all good Southern boys). The beach and Amelia Island are favorites for getting away with the family.

You can mail Dan with any questions you may have about RiverTown. You can also catch up with him on Twitter, Instagram or on Facebook.

Rusty has a strong vision for investing in students and raising up student leaders for the fame of Jesus. Changed by Jesus' grace as a student, he has a passion to see students changed by that same grace.

Rusty joined RiverTown staff in January 2014. He teaches and coaches at Providence School here in Jacksonville in addition to his role at RiverTown. He is the Junior Varsity baseball coach at that school. Teaching and coaching allow him to extend his ministry to students into the community. He and his wife Keri are proud parents of a couple of young and really cool sons. Rusty enjoys fishing and softball in his free time. You can email Rusty at, or catch up with him on Instagram or Facebook.

ANDRE BUTLER, Worship Leader

Andre and his wife Nicole live in Jacksonville's Southside, and are the proud parents of 5 children and 14 grandchildren.

Andre joined RiverTown's  after a successful business career. Whether through leading others in worship or discipling others to grow spiritually, Andre has a heart for mentoring worshipers and developing leaders. He longs to see God's people love and pursue God with the same passion that God loves and pursues them. Andre enjoys fishing to get away and unplug.

Ashley has had a passion for youth ministry since she was in high school. Having such a positive experience during her middle and high school years thanks to her youth leaders, she couldn’t wait to be able to return the favor to students when the time came. Ashley also serves through her talents of social media and video, not to mention her organizational admin side which helps keep our Youth Pastor Rusty sane.

Ashley loves connecting with people. Her favorite part about serving with our students is bringing them to camp each year for a week of summer that they never forget.

Ashley graduated from the University of North Florida in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Minor in Community Leadership.
