Meet the Team

Dan Adams

Founding & Lead Pastor

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Dan attended college at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. He married his college sweetheart Amber in 1995. Dan and Amber have two sons and live in the intracoastal area of Jax.

The teaching style at RiverTown reflects Dan’s commitment to communicating God’s word expositionally and practically ... all with a focus on Jesus. Believing that worship should be refreshing and relevant, his teaching strives to overcome the failure and boredom of empty religion by leading people to experience a relationship with Jesus. A relationship with Jesus is all about grace, and grace is what permeates the teaching, worship and culture at RiverTown. The stories of God’s grace in the lives of the people at RiverTown are simply beautiful.

Dan is an alum of Samford University (B.S. in History, 1995), Beeson Divinity School (Master of Divinity, 1998),  Liberty University (M.B.A., 2009), and Southern Seminary (Master of Theology, 2022). He is also continuing his studies as a Doctor of Ministry student at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Dan is also a Sigma Chi,  joining this fraternity during his college days. He was highly influenced and gained a vision for making disciples and for God's work in the world through his involvement with Campus Outreach at Samford. Through this ministry, he came to commit and purpose his life to build Jesus-focused laborers and leaders ... for the glory of God and the good of the world. Prior to founding RiverTown, Dan served on the staff of churches in Birmingham, Orlando and Jacksonville.

Dan loves hanging with his wife and sons. He enjoys golf, tennis, softball, basketball, and working out in his free time. Dan loves to eat pizza, wings, oreos, and of course barbecue (like all good Southern boys). Amelia Island is a favorite for getting away with the family.

You can catch up with Dan on Twitter, Instagram or on Facebook.

Andre Butler

Worship Pastor

Andre and his wife Nicole live in Jacksonville's Southside, and are the proud parents of 5 children and 14 grandchildren.

Andre joined RiverTown's staff in 2015 after a successful business career. Whether through leading others in worship or discipling others to grow spiritually, Andre has a heart for mentoring worshipers and developing leaders. He longs to see God's people love and pursue God with the same passion that God loves and pursues them. God is his joy ... and worship is his passion.

Andre enjoys fishing to get away and unplug. You can find Andre on Facebook

Carter Jackson

Youth Leader

Carter is from Lake City, FL and graduated from Samford University (B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication, minor in Religion 2017).

His desire is to see others come to know Christ and have their lives completely changed for eternity. Carter has spent close to his entire life in youth and college ministry as a pastor’s kid and a missionary himself. He worked for Samford University’s Office of Admission as an Admission Counselor following university graduation, and spent 3 years in Honduras as a missionary using sports as the avenue for life and heart reconciliation through Christ. He spent the past year as a 6th grade History and Literature teacher at a classical school in Jacksonville.

He has traveled to close to 20 countries, loves to go backpacking in the mountains and play ultimate frisbee.

He has been married to Danielle since 2020 and they have two young children, Emmitt and Shiloh. You can catch up with Carter by on Facebook.

Leigh Rogers

Preschool Leader

Leigh was born and raised in Clemson, SC. She moved to Jacksonville in 2007 and went to Bishop Kenny High School for two years and Florida Gulf Coast University for college. She majored in hospitality and accepted a job at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, where she met her now husband, Michael.

Michael and Leigh have two young children, Maylee and Addy. They spent two years out-of-state to pursue Michael's graduate degree. Now, they are happy to be back in Jacksonville to raise their children and call RIverTown Church their home church.

Leigh spends a lot of her time with family, as her parents and in-laws live in Jacksonville. She also enjoys time at the beach, parks and home-schooling her children.

Leigh has a heart for ministering to young families and planting the seeds of the gospel in young hearts. She looks forward to working alongside the staff at RiverTown Church to do exactly that. Leigh is part of the Young Families Group and Women's Ministry at RiverTown.
